The journalists form some news channels hailing from Telangana region have staged a protest at Indira Park in Hyderabad since they were not permitted to meet prime minister Manmohan Singh when he was in the city on Tuesday. They took a rally from Gun Park to Secretariat and tried to besiege the latter. The police, which plunged into the action, obstructed the media persons from the besieging the secretariat, which resulted in jolts.
A large number of women journalists then sat in front of the DGP office as a sign to mark their protest. Journalists lashed out at the government since even accredited journalists and those who had VIP passes were not permitted to meet the prime minister.
