
The much awaited comprehensive household survey is less than 24 hours to begin and Telangana government has done all the arrangements for it. Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner Somesh Kumar has addressed the media today and briefed about the preparations.
As per the GHMC Commissioner, over 99 lakh families are likely to be part of this survey and the government has roped 3,69,729 enumerators. Somesh Kumar also clarified that no documents are needed to submit to the enumerators but they will be scrutinized for evidence and he defended the government’s motive behind this survey and added that it is being done to implement the welfare scheme to the real beneficiaries.

Meanwhile, the High Court of Hyderabad gave green signal to the household survey. A petitioner has filed a PIL in the Apex court and claimed that the survey is being conducted to identify the Seemandhra settlers in Telangana state. However, High Court did not agree with the petitioners arguments and gave a no objection to the survey.
