The Supreme Court will take up a bunch of petitions that were filed against the creation of separate state of Telangana today. Payyavula Keshav, Telugu Desam Party MLA, and several lawyers have challenged the Central government's move to introduce the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill for creation of Telangana in Parliament.
The petitioners claimed the process of bifurcation is unconstitutional as it is violating the principle of Federalism. Justice HL Dattu and his bench will take up the hearings of the petitioners in afternoon.
